About this Dandy Gaggia
The Dandy Gaggia is one of the classic Gaggia Espresso Machines. It is known for its reliability and high quality Espresso making. The Dandy is standard equipped with a pressure relief solenoid.
This particular machine was bought sometime around 1989 or 1990 and has been very well cared for. After a long period of inactivity, it was cleaned thoroughly, including descaling the boiler and showerhead, replacing the shower head gasket and replacing the steam knob. It still works great.
The Dandy Gaggia is internally built on a large aluminum plate, but the outside of the machine is plastic. The plastic on this machine has 2 cracks, a small one on the front and a larger one on the side. This last crack has been "stabilized" with epoxy glue. |

The Dandy Gaggia will require manual priming if the water reservoir has been removed or after an extended period of non-use. To prime the machine, place a container under the steam nozzle, turn open the steam knob (on the right side of the machine), turn on the pump (bottom switch) and let the water come out of the steam nozzle. Once a steady stream is reached, turn off the pump, close the steam knob and you're ready to go. |
